Unique early 1800s Davenport transferware platter made in Staffordshire, England. Features a romantic blue transfer scene of a grand church or monastery framed by an intricate geometric border in rich cobalt blue.

Marked on the reverse with the impressed lowercase “davenport” and anchor mark, one of Davenport’s earliest backstamps dating between 1793 and 1810. Made using the traditional transfer printing process, where engraved copper plates transferred detailed scenes onto pottery by hand.

Lovely age and character throughout with authentic crazing and wear that adds to its old-world charm. A timeless English piece for display, layering, or everyday use with care. There is visible repair on back side cracking.
